About Me

Hi all!

My name is Olivia Kong and I am a stage manager and scenic painter currently located in Colorado. I’m currently completing my fourth year at the University of Northern Colorado pursuing a BFA in Theatre Design and Technology with an emphasis in Stage Management, and a minor in Chinese.

I have utilized my time in university to explore the different components of technical theatre, and found my purpose in stage management. I thoroughly enjoy watching a production come together from start to finish, and pride myself in my attention to detail and organizational skills in keeping a production running. Whether I am working large musicals like Pippin or with an intimate show such as Machinal, my goal is to build a well-developed production that creates theatrical magic and an emotional experience for the audience.

Outside of the theatre, I consider myself an artist. I am an avid fan of writing, tattooing, and enjoying film. I like to think of myself as a jack of all trades who uses my experience in different fields and mediums to develop and hone my skills in theatrical design and technology. As I enter the professional field, I hope to build connections that will allow me to grow into an artist and stage manager that is enjoyable and effective to work with.
